Cabinet in bleached Oak and Ebony. The solid Oak has been heavily scrubbed to reveal the beauty of the quartersawn grain, and joined with heavy, handcut dovetails. After bleached, I added the super smooth Ebony veneer door and drawer fronts to contrast both the colour and texture of the different woods. the drawers are solid Oak, dovetailed, mounted on self-closing runners. Dimensions 150cm x 50cm x 50cm. Price £3,200.00
I love to show how the piece is made, it seems such a shame to hide the details. Dovetails are one of the most striking features of any furniture, they tell of the hard work and love that has gone into the piece. I handcut all of my dovetails, it just seams to be the right way to do it.
