The Briccole are the wooden mooring and navigation posts used in the city and lagoon of Venice. When they become too weathered and rotten to be serviceable, they are removed and replaced. The wood is extremely difficult to dry, due to the seasalt absorbed. However, when ready, the European Oak is super hard and resistant, perfect for tables and work surfaces.
The legs of this dining table are made of mild steel, washed with salt water, and when rusted, treated with oil. The top has been left with the bandsaw cuts, scrubbed, washed with ammonia, and then finished with beeswax. Dimensions are 180cm x 90cm x 75. The table is supplied with two 50cm leaves, making it a 12 seater. Price upon request.
